week 7: electronics design

assignment for the week

1. use the test equipment (function generator, multimeter, oscilloscope, regulated power supply, digital voltmeter) in your laboratory to observe the operation of a microcontroller circuit board
2. redraw the echo hello-world board, print it, make it, and test it
2.1. use any PCB designing software to draw the circuit
2.2. while designing, check design rules, board size and shape, trace width (use trace width calculator)
2.3 add at least 2 components: a button, and an LED (with a current-limiting resistor) to the existing design
3. simulate its operation, and render it

learning outcomes

1. Select and use software for circuit board design
2. Demonstrate workflows used in circuit board design

have i

1. Shown my process using words/images/screenshots
2. Explained problems and how I fixed them, including how I worked with design rules for milling (DRC in EagleCad and KiCad)
3. Included original design files (Eagle, KiCad, Inkscape, .cad - whatever)

my goal for the week
