Jóannes Djurhuus

Hi! My name is Jóannes Djurhuus. I live in the Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands is an archipelago between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic, about halfway between Norway and Iceland.Their area is about 1,400 square kilometers (541 square miles) with a population of 50,300.
For many years I have worked as a secondary school teacher of mathematics and physics, however, I worked for some years in Norway in the oil industry as a rock mechanic.
Last year, the first FabLab started in this country and I became responsible for this. As part of this work, I am now taking FabAcademy. FabLab is in a high school in the city of Kambsdalur.

Final Project!

My final project is to control a Dobsonian astronomical telescope, using a computer. The project also includes a picture analysis, which can be used for automatic tracking of astronomical objects.
