                           COMPUTER-CONTROLLED CUTTING

For this task laser will use the methods of court and plotter of court of vinil. Primeramente, we have to of realizing it for equipment, my companion is Christian Cárdenas:
GROUP ASSIGNMENT:
We must test court to start knowing the different speeds and powers with which podran the materials to cut, any that these are, we begin for developing a small format in AutoCAD, in which small pictures have been distributed in order that with them juquemos with the powers and speeds of the machine, for our case we use a LaserPro of GCC, model Spirit GLS of 80 watts of power:

This way so:

We will use for our tests will use the MDF (medium density fibreboard) of 3 mm of thickness, the machine is calibrated, or, we give him the correct height between lens and material, for this type of lens " 2 pulg ".

And we give the orders to cut

We have begun with 4 equivalent speed points, to 4 % of 80 IPS and depart from 60 points, equivalnetes to 60 % of 80 Watts of power.

After playing with the speeds and powers we obtain:

We realize that for the equipment which we possess, the minim speed to cut is 2 % with a power of 60 %

And us podriamos to happen a lot of time experimenting with all the different materials exixstentes that can be cut by laser, since already we have an idea wherefrom departing.

ASSIGNMENT
LASER CUTTING
For this task, we must use the equipments laser and court of vinil.
We will have to design an object which we will have to develop to be able to cut it with laser, with RhinoCeros I give him form to the structure with which I want to divide, only I show the end of the design draw:
Lo salvo como STL (stereolithography)

Since to be able to continue with the exercise it will use a program that is called itself Autodesk's MERGER SLICER FOR, it is of free access and very easily to use

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fFH_TcI-9U

I import the figure and measure her, want it of 300 mm of high place

I select the technology of construction, for my case it is A Radial Slices

With this program I can increase or diminish the quantity of axes

Here my final design is

To be able to cut it is necessary to export DXF of autocad.

Slicer is a program very easy to use, with I can parametrize if I need to increase the size and / or the thickness of material, for example, increases the size to 600 mm and the thickness of material to 6 mm, obtaining the following thing:

Also with slicer experiences another technology of construction, Interlocked slices:

Returning to the file DXF to cut from Autocad, I it have annexed to a box of 90 x 60 cm, which it corresponds to the area of work of the laser with which it will cut

There will use acrylic crystal of 1.5 mm of thickness

With two different colors of lines, white to record and red to cut, I programme the machine with 70 % of speed and 60 % of power to record and 3 % of speed and 85 % of power to cut; correspondents to a Spirit LaserPro's GLS, it arrives already described.

My finished pieces, acrylic crystal of 1.5 mm of thickness

Assembling my structure

Finished piece:

VINYL CUTTING

The plotter of court uses also of vinil and as also from Rhinoceros and CoreDRAW cuts it:

Draw It in RHINO

Spend it to CorelDraw, to be able to turn PLT, which is with that the plotter of court works of vinil. Though I could have drawn it directly from CorelDraw to spend it to the plotter.

The plotter of court of vinil of GCC, is a model PUMAIII of 132 cm GCC's

Already with the aligned material:

In Great cut, it is the software of the equipment

It is cut by a pressure of 80 gr, speed of 30 cm/seg

A razor of 45 ° to cut this type of vinil

Finished cu

Already I have withdrawn the surplus

I place the tranfer to be able to adhere to the surface

Already to finish I place it in a toy:

Finished work:
