Week 18 : Applications and implications

Final project

My final project will be a trash bin with several bins to sort wastes. It will weigh wastes to compute ecological impact of your way of life. And it will also be modular to go with what type of wastes you want to recycle.

The project can be split in 6 parts:

Main bin
Each bin will be mabe with two containers. The inside one will slide in the outside container.

Bin link
Bins should be removable for the system to be modular, suitable for each situation.

Bin lid
First version, a manual lid you can open by hand. A second version wich can be open by foot can be made later. This part is optional

Weigh device
The most important part of the bin. A mechanical system will transform weight to a potentiometer rotation .

Electronic devices
A small board to each bin connected to a main one or just one connected to bins.

Board application
The app will ba a firmware wich compute bin weights

for each part, we can define 4 states of progress:

from the idea to 3D design, board schematic

3D print, laser cut, engrave the device

assemble, verify, debug and return to prototype state if necessary

write documentation for user to know how to make, use
