WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS

Composites

I decide to build a holder for my car camera where I'm going to mount it to the back of the car. From my past experience In fiberglass and carbon fiber this time I'm going to use the techniques that Nell show us where the Structure or the object be one part of the fabric.

I'm going to build a 3D object using Cinema 4D then I'm going to slice the object and use the laser cutter, the material I'm going to use balsa  wood with a thickness of a 3 mm after that I'm going to build that structure.

Start doing the test on cardboard make sure that the vcamera fit and how it looks like in general as one product.

After I finished a laser cutter and a sample of all object I start wrapping my 3D object in plastic foil then I got two layers of burlap and do some cutting so it can fit the camera which is going to be mounted in its place.

The mixing for the reason it was very easy that issues were very clear to one so we go with the 200 mL from A and 100 ml from B

One of the most important steps you need to take it to high attention the safety, you need to wear gloves and eye protection, plus mask. the other thing that when you mix the risen after 2 to 3 min the chemical reaction starts to start and generate heat

The last layer was the release fabric, then the food foil. I Insert the object into the vacuum bag, during the vacuum I make sure that push all the plastic bag to the corner so it doesn't hold air.

I kept the bag for 24H to dry and it becomes hard.

I have done some surface finishing to it, then I mount the camera to it and mount the whole thing to the back window of the car. it works perfect for me, the next stage it will be to design a host for the screen and mount it to the front window.

Next in line to be build the host for the screen
