WEEK 20- Project Development

WEEK 20 - Project Development

What is the deadline? How much time do I have left?

Answer: The deadline is in a week . The hard deadline for submission of the project submission is the final project presentation in front of Neil . The deadline that i have decided to work on is the one day before that presentation i.e 14 th of June 2018. (Update : I overshot the deadline and completed on the morning of 15 th June)

What tasks have been completed, and what tasks remain?

Answer : The task that have been completed is the manufacturing and programming of the boards . The boards have been electrically tested and the "blink code" has been burned to verify the operation of the board . The connectors have been successfully made into the library and have been used extensively on the boards .

The task of final assembly and debugging remains .(UPDATE : The motor torque is not enough to hold or move the sensor carraige )

How will I complete the remaining tasks in time?

Answer : The caliberation of the colour sensor is remaining . The serial commmunication of between boards is remaining. Tighter integration of the powersupply modules remain.(UPDATE : as of 18 th of June I am still tinkering on the project )

What has worked?

Answer : The electrical assembly i.e the boards have been working . The power circuitry has held up .(UPDATE : Boards have been coded and working fine )

What hasn't?

Answer : The networking between the boards is not working . The slider assembly which has been used is adding excess friction on the joints.

What questions still need to be resolved?

Answer : 1. Resolving the friction issues on the vertical slider . 2. Torque issues of the motor are uncertain . (UPDATE : motor torque is quite low and the base assembly needs to be changed )

What have you learned?

Answer : My time management skill need work . A single problem can have multidimensional approadches which often makes it simple to solve. For eg : I had to make sure the LED were placed correctly and the right angle I used a mixture of ECAD (Eagle 9.0.0 ) and M-CAD (Fusion 360) . I used to this same skill to generate custom components in Eagle 9.0.0 .
