2D DESIGN

In this stage of the project it is necessary to design two components. The first is a small container that allows to store liquid. The function is to keep the wet bulb temperature sensor humid. The drawing and modeling of this component was done from week 3. Below is a brief summary of the activity.

The selected program was Autodesk Fusion360. I worked with the circle command in the plant to achieve the desired result. I drew concentric circles and the perforations for the screws that would hold the lid.

Then with the "extrude" command the distances for each circle were selected. This allowed to visualize the model in 3D.

Finally, with the "fillet" command I worked on the detail of the curved area of the cylinder. The image shows the detail.

The same procedure was followed to draw the lid. Both models were exported in "stl" format for the next step: 3D printing.

Below a video summarizes the 2D and 3D drawing process.

3D PRINTING
For 3D printing, the Zortrax M200 printer was selected. This printer works with Z-SUITE 2, an intuitive software to convert 3D files into models. In this software, the parameters for printing are analyzed and simulated. Defined the parameters the file is exported with the extension G-CODE

The following images show the parameters of each model as well as the program's environment

Once having the G-CODE on the SD card. Start the heating process of the printer to start printing the model. The zortrax is a very versatile and safe printer. The process ended without any mishap. I was just very aware of the filament reel.

THE CASE
The second component that will be designed is the device case. The main premises to consider were: space for the screen, button and three holes for the output of the sensors. The case was designed in 2D in autocad. With the basic commands such as line and polyline, the required design was achieved.

For laser cutting, a trotec-speed laser was chosen. The material is TroGlass Frosted White on a Quarter Sheet (606 x 301 mm).

Due to the characteristics of the trotec software it was necessary to pass the vector to the corel draw.

Subsequently the assembly of the parts was performed.

The activities in this section are summarized in a video.
