1. Plan a Potential Final Project

Project Concept

I am interested in developing an innovative solution for a daily problem that happens to me and to other people as well. The problem is related to carrying several devices to use the computer, whether to work in the office, at home or to teach at the university, especially the mouse or the laser pointer.

The goal is to control the cursor on the computer screen with a portable device that works without a horizontal surface.

Skills

In this project I hope to use the following skills:

- 3D scanning and printing

- Electronics design

- Input devices

- Networking and communications

- Interface and application programming

2. Sketch a Potential Final Project

Project Proposal

This project aims to design and make a low-cost device capable to control computer navigation using simple hand gestures instead of a mouse or touch pad.

I have the initial idea that best accessory for the device could be a ring because it's a wearable object.

Solution Skecth

The device will allow to control standard programs by enabling the user to scroll, click, double-click, drag and navigate around the computer screen using hand movements.
