*Assignments

  • Develop a plan for dissemination of your final project.

Invention, Innovation

My original inspirations for the project as well as the functioning behind it was an art installation which was installed at Changi’s airport. Also, the various parts and their functioning in the project is the commonly used concepts of electronics, like the movements of the stepper motors and all and I learned all these things from the open source community. I didn’t come up with the idea, rather I learned about how to use and implement it into my own work to make something cool. so, I am not planning to apply for any patent or copyright for my project.

But I still want to keep some sort of license on my work to stop others from taking it and using it for commercial purposes/making a profit. so I’ll be using a CC BY-NC-SA license, or a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Share Alike. What that basically means is that anyone can use, modify, and change my work as long as they give me full credit, don’t use it for commercial purposes, and publish their new work under the exact same license that I have with mine.

Intellectual Property

Licence

To get a license, first I had to understand what all types of licenses are there and what kind of license will apply for my project. And while browsing I found this image which made my job of selecting a license easier.

So, to get a license go to the website of Creative Commons and select the type of license you want.

  • First, select the license features.

  • A license will be generated based on your selection.

  • A embed link will be generated of your license which you can pasted on your pages

  • which will look like something like this.

Business Model

I didn’t know much about business model, so I checked our local instructor Rahul’s page and got some idea.

Business Model Canvas is a strategic management and lean startup template for developing new or documenting existing business models. It is a visual chart with elements describing a firm’s or product’s value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances.
