19. Project development

What tasks have been completed? What tasks remain?

This is the list that I did for organizing the tasks and also shows the tasks that weren’t completed by 3 of july of 2019 (except of course the Tests, Video and Slide as you can se in the Final Project Page):

I divided into gathering the materials (MAT), design the 3D model, base for all the other files (3D). The strategies for the CNC and the files for the laser cutter and the 3D printer were also organized to optimize time (CAM).

I also left some time to book the machines in the lab (CNC), (LASER), (PCB) and at night I could work at the interface (WEB).

Whenever I found a problem on a processes and the time that I had scheduled for that was over I managed the time to try to solve this problems (RCHECK).

Finally when I started to assemble the final object I divided the tasks into smaller ones so I wouldn’t forget anything (RFINAL).

What has worked? What hasn’t?

Aside from the board everything worked really well in the first, second or third try. The board that runs everything is still unstable but I’m working on a third version now.

What questions need to be resolved?

What am I going to do with the object? I’m going back to Brasil and I sure cannot take it with me.

What will happen when?

I’ll try to take the object to a place like an art gallery, studio or office in the next week, maybe it may work as a decoration too.

What have you learned?

I already worked before with most of the process used on this project but none of them on a level where I had to put everything together and make it work. Actually the PCB making is a totally new skill acquired.

I stepped up my skills in 2D and 3D design, CNC cutting, 3D printing, laser cutting, molding and casting.
