Project Development

This is a follow up for the working

I have divided my project building procedure into multipe phases. The first two phases have been completed, which are:

Phase 1: Creating a microcontroller chip and reading an input signal using a DC motor attached to the chip.

Phase 2: Completing the control cycle by adding the output device which is the LEDs and having them functioning.

Those two phases have been accomplished in the Input Device and the Output Device weeks respectively.

Phase 3: Have the electical system functioning independantly. To do that, I will have to power my microcontroller on the lithium battery. But since the battery gives 12.4 volts but the chip takes only 5 volts. So I need some kind of a transformer or a voltage regulator.

Phase 4: Building and assembling the structure for my project. this phase os to be planned now.

Phase 5: Finishing and perfecting my final product.

The final phase is going to be looked into after finishing phase 4, because what will happen then is going to be driven by the output of the fourth phase.

The previous tasks as aforementioned, has been working just fine and everything I attempted has worked. What remains now is to find out the methodology for creating the voltage adapter so I can power my system without it connected to a PC.

Another question that need to be answered is how to seal the door of the water tower and open it on demand.

Most of the components have been designed using Fusion 360. The designs for the water tower and the apartment building has has been designed then their drawing exported as a PDF file to be edit on a 2D design software such as CorrelDraw.

The plan now is to finish designing the 3D printed parts then run their jobs because they take the longest production time. As they are running, I will work on manufacturing the building then the water tower. Because laser cutting same as machining require me to stay present with the machine, unlike 3D printing, that I can leave and return to when the job is finished.

I imagine that this process will take up to 4 days. So on the fifth day everything must be ready for assembling.

In the remaining time, I will start with phase 5; finishing my project and see what it still needs. keeping in mind to leave two days before the presentation to prepare the video and the poster.

The progress for the final project is to be tracked on my main site under the tab of Final Project.
