11. Input devices

I used Eagle for designing this week

Three LEds are used as output & one photo transister as input

Routing was relatively easy as I got a hang of positioning different parts around the IC by now

The cutting bit 1/32” broke and cut into the board

I noticed there was some connections missing. The connections seem very thin and I went baack and checked the 1/64” tracing bit. The tip was broken

I used a new bit and made a new board.

I soldered two LEDs and one was left for using it as an output port for next week’s project.

I used a Kapton tape to make sure that my serial port header does not get in contact with the conductor going under it

For some strange reason, my board shut down everytime I connected it to the PC. Later I checked the continuity of every connection I had on my board & found that My VCC & GND was shorted beneath the transistor.

I cut & broke the shorting and resoldered the transistor and the board started functioning
