Sanitizing Tunnel

What will it do?

It can be used to clean/sanitize cloth and object to help in fighting against COVID-19 by people passing through it to stop the transmission of COVID-19.

Who has done what beforehand?

Already there is some sanitizing tunnel that have been made before in different countries and we learned from there sucess story which inspired me to make it too.

What materials and coomponents will be required?

  • Microcontroller

  • Relay

  • Electronic passive components

  • Motors Pump

  • MDFs

Where will they come from?

Our Fab Lab will provide most of the material and components, if there is some not available I will buy them on the local market.

What parts and systems will be made?

I will make a frame for the sanitizing tunnel. which will shield the space where people will pass from to get sanitized.

I will make the controller board for the system. The electronic controll system which will include a sensor to detect if there is someone passing then it can turn on the pump.

What processes will be used?

I will:

  • Design the electronic system which controlles the pump.

  • Mill the electronic controller board, and solder components on the board.

  • Design the frame and machine it on the CNC machine.

What tasks need to be completed?

  • PCB design

  • PCB milling

  • Frame design

  • Frame cutting

  • Frame assembly

  • System testing

What questions need to be answered?

  • Is the frame stable?

  • Does the sensor detect correctly?

  • How is the switching of the motor?

  • Is the controller working fine?

How will it be evaluated?

This project can be evaluated by checking the answers of the above question if they are satifying.
