Body cosmetics (3D design, 3D printer)

For cosmetics the body, keep the triangle, hexagon structure as the mechanical base, I modified the outlook with additional cosmetic parts by 3D designed 3D printed components.

The arcs lined from the bottom to tripod tower, this made an unity as a product but also feeling more gentle, smart not like old-fashion angular traditional robot.

Total six pieces printed, used shell technique by Fusion360, the plastic part is only surface and empty inside. This reduced the material cost, weight for machine and printing time.
This time total six pieces used 499,8cm3 for the model, 671,1cm3 for support material and took 22 hours for printing.

The bottom parts are not only cosmetics but also mechanically important to support the tripod tower and gives a space for all electronics. Also added the screw holes for outer body of plywood boards.

And also to make more future product feeling as a 6G product, I tried the 3D design which can make the product only by 3D printing. This design base was from molding and casting week’s 6G flagship chocolate. Started from the same chocolate model foam, scaled the size and modified as Tripod holder with Fablab logomark. The fabrication is reported here.

2. Laser cutter

Laser

Laser cutter is used by the machine Epilog Fusion M2 and procedures are followed by the previous week computer controlled cutting.

On the wheel cover also printed the Fablab logo by engraving.
