For this week I need to propose a final project masterpiece that integrates the range of units covered. Where possible, My project should incorporate: - 2D and 3D design - additive and subtractive - fabrication grocesses - electronics design and production - microcontroller interfacing and programming - system integration and packaging

What will it do?

My idea is to Make Automatic hand sanitizer with level indicator that one can use this without touching the wall of the container and use in safe way and will motivate public to use it. Secondly the the level indicator will tell the operator that how many sanitizer remaining inside and thus easily manageable. For this I am using the IR sensor. The sensor will detect the hand if someone want to sanitize the hand and spray the sanitizer droplets accordingly.

Who’s done what beforehand?

There are different project which aims to clean the users hands by using the differend methodology and technique as UV light for sanitzing hand and many others.


UV based Hand Sanitizer.

But in my project I aim to sanitize the hands with liquid base hand sanitizer using IR sensor as an Input and Pump for the droplet of the sanitizer also I am using the water level sensor and Lcd for the measurement of the sanitizer level.

What will you design?

I planned to design Automatic hansanitizer with level indicator system by using skills which I learned while doing fablab course. In which I will use different input and output devices and will use my designed controll to controll the function of project by using this project people will be motivate toward the use of the hand sanitizer also the level indicator will help to manage the sanitzer in the bottle.

What materials and components will be used?

I will use the following material in my project.
* 3x1-ft 4mm Acrylic Sheet.

* IR Sensor

* Water level sensor

* 5V Pump

*Lcd

* Elfy glue

*Male/Male Jumper Wire (150mm)

*Female/Female Jumper Wire (150mm)

*ATMega328p along with circuitry

*5V 2Amp Adapter.

*PLA for circuit 3D printed box and nozzle

Where will come from?

Most of the components and material are from FABLAB Khairpur, these are some components which I bought, the list is mentioned below:

4mm Acrylic Sheet (Karachi)

water level sensor ( Hallroad lahore)

Ir Sensor (from Khairpur)

5v Pump ( Hallroad lahore)

lcd (from Karachi)

5V battery (bought locally)

What processes will be used?


*3D Designing I used Solidworks to do all 3D Designing of final project includes box for circuit, nozzle , etc

* 2D Desiging I will use Ink space for file of Laser cutting ,vinyl cutting etc.

*Circuit Designing I have done the Circuit design in Eagle 7.5 in which 328p (controller) board designing involves.

*Electronics Production I generated the .rml files from Fabmodules, milling using SRM-20 and soldering components.

*Interface and Application development made using Bootstrap, layout it and Arduino IDE.

*Laser Cut Acrylic cutting for the box

What questions need to be answered?


*Is system integrated and work properly as required ?

*How to make application more user friendly ?

*How to easily implement it on public places ?

*How to market this product ?

*How to make it more modular ?

How will it be evaluated ?
