About me

Hello! I am Kenicihi. I am an reseacher and engineer of mobile telecommunications more than 15 years… Currently I’m working for Nokia and University of Oulu regarding the research beyond 5G telecommunications… Let’s rock with 6G!

My background

My origin is from Japan, borned in Japan and grew most of the time in Japan. Since 2011 I have lived in Finland in Nordic country but more northern city of Oulu where located N.65 degree, very cold Arctic climate here,,, but this Oulu city is so called Nordic silicon valley and home of radio technology in mobile telecommunication, so here is Cool! place.

Previous works

Besides Mobile network equipment development daily work, I have joined Fablab Oulu Hackathon event “Science Hack Day” from the beginning, 2018, 2019 and 2020 as creater and as volunteer staff. Fun with improvised session with creaters!

2020 Science Hack Day

The idea was for making fun with 5G low latency real time. University of Oulu has private 5G radio system in campus, school has own 5G SIM card to use free 5G radio for research/study purpuse for everyone who wants.
Here is the idea, how 5G makes toy with low latency real-time communications. 2days work with team, but made it the moving real operating proto!

2019 Resercher’s night

The one evening event by University of Oulu that researchers present their own activity to public citizens, kids.
Developed the world first 5G embedded toy!
Tablet game (rock/paper/scissors) is connected with 5G wireless embeded candy box, you won you get candy!

2019 Science Hack Day

This year I worked as volunteer staff for technical guide to participants. However,,,, I couldn’t help to create something,,, then I made a simple proto related with 5G radio.
5G radio, basically radio cannot be visible for human eyes. The problem of 5G service starting in public, people cannot see where is the 5G radio. This is a kind of ad-baloon solution to show 5G radio is here or not, by sensing radio and change the color of the body from white to blue. 5G radio receiver was not prepared but showing Proof of Concept (PoC) how 5G radio visible by this gadget.

Used e-paper Prism from DNP. If the e-Paper and sticker texts are exactly same color, the texts are more clearly appear/disappear by color change,,, but this is the limitation of weekend hackathon…

2018 Science Hack Day

First join to Fablab activity, but also the first year Oulu Fablab did the event of Science Hack Day. Making a fast proto within Weekend Hackathon.
My idea was If strawberry plants say “Hello” to people, say the condition of plant health, water condition etc. With communicating with strawberry plants growth as a pet eventually the plants produce very tastely Strawberry fruits to you. The proto type idea how to communicate with plants with Internet of Thing (IoT) communications.

Lecture of IoT

Here is the group work project of IoT lecture in University of Oulu, 2020 winter.
The device is linked with Cloud server of AWS, by informing the location of the device, the server returns the status of northern lights possibility by the device LED lamp colors.
