Design and produce something with a digital fabrication process
(Incorporating computer-aided design and manufacturing) not covered
in another assignment
For this week assignment I want to try to print and laser cut something on the fabric.
But the question is how to use the laser cutter and 3D printer to give me what I want!
I like the idea of using calligraphy on fabric!
So let`s try to make it =)

Thuluth (Arabic Font) Calligraphy
I use Inkscape program to make it Bitmap.
Right click then chose Trace Bitmap
Chose the settings then press ok
Now the picture is ready
Save it as .dxf file so I can insert the file in Fusion360 to make it 3D
From Insert I chose dxf file and upload it
Extrude it 4 mm
Now let`s print it !
I will use Ultimaker +2 and print it with PLA material
Put the fabric on the build plate and control the height of it.
Calibrating the build plate Bed leveling :
If the distance between the nozzle and build plate is too big, my print won't stick properly to the fabric so have to make the calibration.
Setting the height :
Rotating the button at the front of the Ultimaker 2 until there is approximately less than 1 mm distance between the nozzle and build plate.

I will try to make the calligraphy pattern using the laser cutter.
I will use leather, because the Leather will mark darker when hit with the laser and will cut nicely.
I want to make sure that the leather lays as flat as possible in the laser.
I use low setting when testing it
10% Power
500 Frequency for engraving .
Now I have a nice wallet :)

I tried the engrave in laser, I want to try to cut a pattern on the fabric.
While I`m searching I found how we can use the laser cutter to make a pattern on cloth , and I really like the idea
I have a dwg pattern and I want to repeat the pattern to make a ring and bracelet.
