My project is aimed to allow people to play chess websites on a physical board, so, this license allows to use it for non commercial purposes.

Plan for dissemination

I first wanted to develop my chessboard for personal use.
If it find interest to anyone I will be happy to show him how it can be done in the kazlab.
If my friends are loosing all the time and complain about any disadvantage I will be happy to build one for them.
I am also in touch with the local chess club and I will show them my project and ask them if they are interested in doing it.
And finaly, we like to organize workshop here in the kazlab so I will enquire in manufacturing my PCB and offer people to come and make it in groups

I can imagine a workshop in three sessions of 2 hours. The workshop will be available for 6 people.

Session 1 - Electronics assembly:

There will be time for vynil cutting the copper tape and stick it on to the board and then to attache pre-ordered manufactured PCB that I have designed on the back of the panel and finally solder the connections between the boards and the copper-tape.

Session 2 - Chessset fabrication:

I will take people all along the design process of the board and the pieces and let them add there own personnal touch. They will have to come back on opening lab hours to lasercut all they need.

Session 3 - Embedded programming:

I will show people how to upload each PCB code and guide them through the python code which is making the bridge between lichess.org and the PCBs. They will be able to personalize how they want the informations to be displayed on the seven segment.

I hope it could start a community of chess players on physical board.
